Ram Mohan - President, ISOC Philadelphia


Executive Vice President & Chief Technical Officer, Afilias

Ram oversees key strategic, management and technology choices for Afilias in support of the company’s various lines of business. These include registry services for fifteen generic top-level domains (gTLDs) including .INFO and .ORG, as well as Managed DNS, RFID/Auto-ID, and Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Ram serves on the Board of Directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in a non-voting capacity and leads several international initiatives in both Internet security and Internationalization. He is a founding member of the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), which consists of Internet pioneers and technical experts who provide guidelines and advice on matters concerning Internet security and stability. He serves on the steering committee of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) and is on the Advisory Committee of the Internet Society (ISOC). Ram led both the GNSO Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) Working Group and the ICANN Board IDN Working Group; he is the co-founder of the Arabic Script IDN Working Group (ASIWG). He advises several governments on Internet security and Internet globalization issues as part of Afilias’ ccTLD portfolio. Ram was previously named one of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and is a recipient of InfoWorld’s CTO 25 Award. He is a founding member of the ISOC Philadelphia Area Chapter and serves on the advisory boards of several startup companies, as well as the Lifeboat Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board.

Richard Woundy - Vice President, ISOC Philadelphia


SVP Software & Applications, Office of the CTO, Comcast Cable

Richard Woundy is SVP Software & Applications in the Comcast Cable Office of the CTO. In this position, he is responsible for guiding the architecture for Internet applications and software standards, and is pursuing related engineering work in congestion management and IPv6 adoption and deployment. Richard previously was the lead architect for back office architecture, and an architect in numerous data/voice/video and wireless initiatives. Richard arrived at Comcast via the acquisition of AT&T Broadband.

Previously, Richard was a senior architect for Cisco Systems, where he developed system architectures and guided product development on behalf of several broadband access technologies. Richard joined Cisco via its acquisition of American Internet Corporation, where as its Chief Architect he focused on DOCSIS provisioning architecture and new product development -- particularly subscriber self-provisioning systems. Richard has also served as Director of Network Technology and Standards at Continental Cablevision/MediaOne, where he helped to guide the standardization of DOCSIS 1.0 at CableLabs, and as a key engineer and manager at IBM, where he developed networking software for Internet backbone routers, particularly for the NSFnet T3 backbone.

Richard earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Yale College, and his master's degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Richard was co-chair of the IETF IPCDN (IP over Cable Data Networks) working group, is co-chair of the DECADE (Decoupled Application Data Enroute) BoF, and is the author of a number of RFCs. He previously led the DOCSIS QoS technical committee that led to the standardization of DOCSIS 1.1.

Steven Pack - Treasurer, ISOC Philadelphia


Compliance Officer, Afilias

Steven Pack joined Afilias October of 2001 as the registry’s Compliance Officer specializing in managing organizational compliance regarding policies and procedures affecting conflicts of interest and equal access for partners and organizational members engaged within the various channel segments of the domain name market. Steve has over twenty years of management experience holding positions at numerous industry leaders such as Avis, American Forest Products/Louisiana Pacific, Mack Trucks, J.K. Lasser/Deloitte & Touche, as well as some mid-sized firms and start-ups. Prior to joining Afilias, Steve was a consultant at CFO Synergy, LLC serving as Chief Financial Officer for many small to mid-sized companies. Steve has also held myriad financial-related positions for companies such as RHI Management Resources, Diesel Performance, Inc., Stockton Kenworth, Inc., among others, and was the managing partner of SPB, a consulting firm in northern California, providing support as Chief Financial Officer for small and medium-size organizations. Steve graduated with a B.S. in Business and Accounting from Towson State College. Steve is currently a member of the AICPA and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
